What Did St. Mary's City Look Like?

Actually, that's kind of a hard question to answer. Most of the buildings that were built in the 1700's were made out of wood.

Here is a picture of Farthing's Ordinary, which was a combination of a hotel and a restaurant. At Farthing's, travelers were provided with one meal a day (at midday) and a place to sleep. They would be charged 10 lbs. of tobacco for a meal and 4 lbs. of tobacco for a night's stay. As you can see, this building is made entirely out of wood.

What do you think happens to wooden buildings over time? Do you think wooden buildings could last 300 years?
