  • June 30 - Osaka
    After a journey through the Inland Sea of Japan, the city of Osaka welcomes Pride II in a big way. This overview of Osaka, Japan, includes the Sail-O Volunteers, the Osaka Aquarium, the Ferris wheel, the Festival Gate children's mall, the American (shopping) Village, the Umeda Sky Building, sports, and schools. Japan's rich history is explored with visits to a Buddhist Temple in Nara, the Osaka Castle, the traditional Bunraku Puppet Theater, and the Shitennoji Temple. Meet Christopher Flansburg, Bosun.
  • July 4 - Nagoya
    Pride II celebrates the Fourth of July in Nagoya, Japan, where she is given a warm welcome by her sister port. Explorations of the area introduce students to the Garden Pier, the Nagoya Public Aquarium, Nagoya Castle, Japanese movie theaters, the Shinto Religion, and an Antarctic ice breaker.   • July 17 - Yokohama
    The crew of Pride II meet friends from the tall ship, KAISEI, as part of their welcome to Yokohama, Japan. Modern Yokohama is described featuring the port facility, Landmark Tower shopping complex, parks, restaurants, school tours, and recent political elections. The traditions of historic times are preserved in visits to an 1930 passenger liner, a sail training ship, the Great Buddha in Kamakura, and the Yokohama Silk Museum.
  • July 24 - Kawasaki
    After a short sail across the harbor, Pride II made her first appearance in Kawasaki, Japan, a sister city to Baltimore. This relationship led to special welcome activities including visits to sister schools. As a result of these visits, this log presents an in-depth profile of teenagers as well as the lifestyle of their working families. The dynamic nature of Japan's volcanoes, tsunamis, and earthquakes is explained. Sights include a park for historic residential buildings and the Toshiba Science Institute, along with a quick look at Japanese culture. Meet Caroline Smith, Deckhand.
  • July 27 - Tokyo, a Bittersweet Farewell to Pride of Baltimore II
    Tokyo lives up to her spectacular status as shown by her port facilities, extravagant shopping areas including the Ginza, Disneyland, the popular Asakusa Kannon Temple, and the world famous fish market. Captain Miles plans for the Pacific crossing while Tina, the cook, provisions the ship for a month at sea. Finishing her Christa McAullife Fellowship Semester with a guest membership in the Foreign Correspondence Club, Leslie Bridgett describes her "Teacher Aboard" experience and expresses a few thoughts on Asia.
