Korea

  • June 9 - TongYoung
After fighting Mother Nature's strong head winds, Pride II sails into the lush green harbor of TongYoung, Korea. Our discoveries in Korea include dining with a grill "in" our table, tanks and tanks of fresh seafood, beach cookouts, dry dock ship repairs, markets and coffee shops in a quaint harbor setting, aquaculture at the Maritime College, terrace farming, the mountainside Buddhist T'ongdosa Temple, a Korean High School, dating and marriage customs, and a unique national flag. Meet Tina Koch, Ship's Cook.
  • June 17 - Pusan
After lots of rain and a tangle with a fishing net, Captain Miles makes a spectacular sailing entrance into Pusan, Korea. Here Pride II takes on more replacement crew, including Captain Parrott. The ship's maintenance routine continues as the Captains meets with BT Challenge Yachts to discuss Japanese waters. Sights in Pusan include a Buddhist temple by the sea, markets, the modern buildings of Pusan, beaches, coffee shops, baseball, and the Pusan International School. A brief history of Korea is provided along with a visit to the United Nations Cemetery. Meet Mike Rogers, Engineer.
