Part I: Latitude And LongitudeIf you look at a map, most maps will have some sort of grid system to help you determine locations. Here are two maps showing two different grid systems:
On this map, letters are written across the top and bottom, and numbers are written along the sides. Can you find Thompson Estates in the square B5?
On this map, the grid lines do not go straight up and down or across from side to side. These gridlines are latitudes and longitudes, but they work basically the same way as the grid system we saw above. Can you find Frankfurt, Germany near the position 50° N and 10° E?
