Activities

Step 1
Using a globe, a map, or world atlas, find Maryland and Hong Kong. From the map can you find out:

  1. What time it is in Hong Kong right now?

  2. If the students in Hong Kong are in school right now?

Step 2

  1. Have you ever looked at the Web site from another school?

  2. What information do you think we could find on a school's Web site?

  3. Does your school have a Web site ? If so, leave this site and go to your school's home page. What conclusion could some one draw about how and where we live from looking at a Maryland's school's Web site?

  4. If you do not have a school Web site, view Robert Frost Middle School's home page. What conclusion can you draw about how people live in this region? Keep in mind that you can also draw a conclusion from what is missing from the site.

Step 3:
Did you know that schools all around the world have Web sites? You can visit other schools' Web sites to gather information about where Pride II is going.

Today, you will work with a partner to use your computer skills to gather clues about life in another school. Look at the "Asia with Pride Itinerary."

Which one of these places would like to learn more about? Find that place on the Map of the Pacific Rim Tour.
