Green Blaze 2007National Youth Leader TrainingAugust 4-11, 2007Camp Oest, Broad Creek A blaze of lightening over three green bars marks the trail of the leader. It resembles the badge of the Senior Patrol Leader, and stands for the Baltimore Area Council's National Youth Leader Training Course. In 2007, Green Blaze is a week-long outdoor experience for youth leaders in support of the Scoutmaster's responsibility for the training of troop youth leaders. Built on the legacy of past JLT successes, the new syllabus integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience. Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skills and confidence to lead well. Through a wide range of activities, events, games, and adventures, NYLT participants will work and play together as they put into action the best that Scouting has to offer. This change aligns the youth training with the adult training that is taught in the Wood Badge of the 21st Century. Please, NOTE the change of schedule! |
