Troop Countdown Sheet
Print this Web page and use it as a resource for preparing the troop for Summer Camp.
By now you and your Troop Leader's Council may, with advice from your
Troop Committee, have completed the basic plans for camp.
___ You have selected your campsite and week:____________________________________
___ Your committee has selected at least one assistant for you:__________________
___ The camp savings plan is underway.
___ STEP 1
Are your fees up-to-date? Have you sent in the number of scouts attending
camp? Units that cannot fill the minimum site capacity may be moved to
another site that will accommodate the number of campers the troop is bringing
to camp.
___ STEP 2
If you have not already done so, conduct a Camp Promotion Parents' Night
sometime between now and when you go to camp, to present camp plans and
share with boys and parents information about our Camp, program highlights,
adult leadership, physical examination, fee payment information, etc. Individual
Health and Medical Records are available at the Scout Service Center for
distribution.
___ STEP 3
Troop Leader's Council plans entire troop program in detail BEFORE coming
to camp. List not only things you want to do, but also when and where.
___ STEP 4
Troop Committee contacts parents of Scouts not yet signed-up for camp
in an effort to get them to sign-up. Remember Specialty Camps for Scouts
who want to attend camp at a different or additional time.
___ STEP 5
Pay balance of camp fees owed at the Scout Service Center two (2) weeks
prior to your arrival at camp, and finalize the troop roster of those attending
before June 1 to receive your discount.
___ STEP 6
Arrange for transportation to and from camp.
___ STEP 7
Arrange for local newspaper publicity and obtain home address and telephone
numbers of all Scouts. Include parents' vacation address or that of nearest
relative for use in emergency.
___ STEP 8
Check in at camp on Sunday at designated time.
